Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Who may use the app
You must be at least [13 / 16 — set per COPPA/GDPR] years old, or have verifiable parental/guardian consent. The app is rated 4+ but is not directed to children. [Describe handling of minors.]
3. The service
Our Daily Dignity provides spiritual reflections, prayers, journaling, and prayer features. Content is selected from public-domain or properly licensed sources and reviewed for fidelity to Catholic teaching, but it is provided for personal spiritual reflection only. We may add, change, or discontinue features.
4. Not a substitute; not a crisis service
The app is a companion that points toward — and never replaces — the sacraments, the parish, spiritual direction, or professional pastoral or mental-health care. It is not a crisis service and does not provide counseling, medical, or mental-health advice. If you are in crisis or danger, contact emergency services (e.g., 911 in the US) or a crisis line (e.g., 988 in the US). Resources listed in the app are informational referrals only.
5. Your account
You are responsible for your account and the accuracy of information you provide. Choose a display name that does not impersonate others or contain offensive or personal information. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse or disrupt the service; access data that is not yours; probe, scan, or breach security; use automated means to scrape or overload the service; or use the app for any unlawful purpose.
7. Your content
Content you create (journal entries, prayer intentions) is yours and private to you. We process it solely to provide the app’s features to you. We do not display your private content to other users.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its design, and its curated content are owned by us or our licensors. Sourced texts remain subject to their public-domain status or license, credited where required. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose.
9. Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that content is error-free or that the service will be uninterrupted. [Theological-content disclaimer.]
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. [Aggregate liability cap.]
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the app or violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app and, where the change affects how we process your data, ask you to re-consent. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to comply with law.
14. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [Venue; arbitration and class-action waiver; consumer-law carve-outs.]
